SUMMARY:

Sunny is a well maintained, comfortable and proven offshore cruiser.
She is easily handled both offshore and in a marina.  She is renowned for her fast sailing and is well equipped for long distance sailing.

A WORD FROM THE OWNERS:

"We are a family of four (Boy 10, Girl 8), from Texas who flew in January 2023 into French Polynesia with 13 bags and little sailing experience. What limited experience we had occurred on a monohull so although we knew we wanted to eventually upgrade to a catamaran, our first boat in the South Pacific was an early 90's solid monohull.

We learned of this catarman and briefly met the owners at the time as our time in French Polynesia overlapped. We saw first hand the condition of the boat and knew the high level of thought that the very experienced skipper put into selecting this Privilege catamaran to transport his family from Europe to the South Pacific. Skipping a year and half forward, we saw her become available just as we were selling our monohull,  we jumped at the opportunity, realizing this was our chance to experience both an “affordable” yet top quality live-aboard ready catamaran.

We have cruised from French Polynesia to Australia and consider Fiji to offer the best of all South Pacific sailing locations. The friendliest people, beautiful islands, clear water, abundant sealife, protected anchorages, a great cruising community, and good access to affordable goods and services. SV Sunny is becoming available now due to a growing family desire to temporarily transition back to land life and structured school. We experienced an amazing tour via sailboat of the South Pacific and strongly encourage others with a similar dream to do the same.

Sunny is an easy-to-handle, solidly built boat that provides anyone with the confidence to explore beautiful, remote locations. When our family transitioned from an older monohull to SV Sunny, we commented, “It was like stepping into a well-appointed floating apartment.” She is in beautiful condition and completely blue water ready."

Her previous owners, who had sailed Sunny (ex Belladonna) from the UK to Tahiti, wrote:

"Having already sailed around the world, we knew exactly what we were looking for in our next boat:

1) Seaworthy boat to provide a safe platform for us and our daughters
2) Easily sailed single-handed
3) Light and spacious with good headroom and large berths
4) Galley down so plenty of storage to hand
5) Good bridge deck clearance
6) Capable of 150nm+ day runs
7) Sails upwind well
8) Protected steering position

Belladonna has all these features and more. We feel much safer in Belladona than we did in our previous very respected 38ft bluewater monohull.  Not only that, but the Privilege 37 even sails upwind faster and closer to the wind. Upwind in larger waves, we leave many much larger modern catamarans a long way behind.  Unlike many modern catamarans, she is designed to sail well upwind and downwind.

ELECTRICS:

The solar system is split into two independent systems for optimal generation.

400Ah of lithium batteries (equivalent to 720Ah of lead acid).  Lithium batteries allow a more powerful windlass to be installed - and enables sailing off anchor without starting the engines.  It also means the solar system is able to charge much more efficiently.  The alternators are only needed for service battery charging in an emergency.

The original design is a single starter battery which starts both engines.  This was reconfigured to allow each engine to run off its own starter battery for safety and peace of mind. Electrics include:

HISTORY:

Sunny, previously named Belladonna, has only had 4 owners and was never chartered. The original owner kept Belladonna in Spain most of the time.  Belladonna was looked after professionally by the yard and launched for short holidays. She has had very little use in her first 15 years.

The second owners bought Belladonna in 2017 and re-fitted her ready for long distance sailing with their two daughters.  They sailed from the UK to French Polynesia between 2018 and 2022. In February 2023, Nautilus Yacht Management sold Belladonna to an Australian couple who enjoyed exploring French Polynesia for a few months and renamed her Sunny, before circumstances forced them to sell. She was then purchased by her current owners, a family from the US. With only a short sabbatical due to work pressure and children having to get back to school, Sunny is now available again and presents an amazing opportunity for someone looking for an affordable catamaran with renowned pedigree and seaworthy capability equipped for luxurious live aboard and presented in immaculate condition.

NEGOTIABLE ITEMS:

Additionally the transfer of an inventory of water-sports equipment is negotiable. I.E Wing-foil setup, wake board, surf board and 2 paddle boards, sub wing, 2 sets of snorkeling gear, and fishing gear.
