"Whimaway" is a 2012 Catalina 445, listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater.

Designed by Gerry Douglas and built by Catalina Yachts in the USA, the 445 is a well-proven bluewater cruiser known for its practical layout, easy handling and genuine offshore capability. Catalina's reputation is built on solid, functional construction, and the 445 is widely regarded as one of the standout models in the range for owners looking to cruise comfortably and confidently.

Whimaway comes well equipped for extended cruising. She carries a custom rigid stainless steel bimini  (2026) fitted with three 120 watt solar panels, a 400 watt Spreco Silent wind generator, and a 4G modem with 5G antenna and onboard WiFi, giving genuine independence at anchor. Navigation is built around twin Raymarine MFDs, one at the chart table and one in the cockpit, along with a Raymarine SPX autopilot, ICOM VHF and AIS transceiver. 

On deck, the standing rigging was renewed in November 2022, and the sail wardrobe includes a 2020 in-mast furling main from Evolution Sails, a 135% furling genoa from Doyle Sails, an MPS with furler on a Selden bowsprit from Hood Sails, and a Hood Sails storm sail. Winching is fully powered up, with twin Lewmar 65 electric headsail winches and a Lewmar 46 electric winch for the mainsheet and main furler, plus a manual Lewmar 46. Ground tackle is equally well specified, with a 45kg Manson Supreme anchor on 60m of chain run through a Maxwell RC10 electric windlass with wireless remote and chain counter, plus a 35kg Manson Supreme spare.

Below decks, Whimaway sleeps up to eight across three cabins, with a double island berth forward with ensuite, a starboard double aft cabin, and a port aft cabin that converts to a double or opens up as storage with an additional bunk above. The saloon table lowers to form a further double, and the main cabin's ultraleather upholstery is presented in excellent condition. Power comes from 780 amp hours of AGM house battery, an 1800 watt Xantrex inverter, and a full solar and wind charging setup, so the boat is well placed for time away from shore power. The owner has a number of appliances onboard that are comfortably powered through this setup, including a coffee machine and toaster so you can still cruise in comfort.

Powered by a Yanmar 54hp diesel engine with only 1,665 hours on the clock.
