Back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s Ces Quilkey built Australia’s top ocean racing yachts…Mercedes, Ragamuffin 1, Love and War, Centrefold, as well as police launches and others…strength and lightness was his trademark.

‘Raetara’ was launched in 1988 and was the last yacht built by Ces Quilkey.

Designed by John Ward, the son of Wally Ward who designed many yachts including the very successful Carmen class, built by the Swanson Brothers.  ‘Raetara’ is renowned for her ease of
handling, particularly in boisterous offshore conditions.

She is equipped for short-handed sailing and with a balanced helm will sail herself for long periods unattended.

Incredibly strong and dry, built of cold moulded Oregon over Queensland Maple ribs.  Hull is GRP sheathed and and deck is Dinyl sheathed.

The interior  exudes the richness of the Honduras Mahogany timber and can sleep six.

Well maintained Perkins Diesel, rerigged in October 2010, inflatable with outboard….ready to go.

A true classic, launched 1988, one owner who says “find our ‘Raetara’ a new owner who will enjoy her!’
