Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car brand, is partnering with Candela. The Swedish electric hydrofoil pioneer, to electrify the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance on Cockatoo Island from 28 February to 2 March 2025.

Both Polestar and Candela share a unified vision of advancing sustainable electric mobility. At the same time, they simultaneously showcase that eco-friendly choices can, in fact, embody cutting-edge design, exceptional performance, and innovative technology. As a result, they effectively demonstrate how sustainability and innovation can not only coexist but also complement each other in creating a more sustainable future.

A prime example of this collaboration is the limited-edition Candela C-8 Polestar edition. Which integrates the battery pack and fast-charging technology from the Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor, combined with a bespoke design. This creation represents the pinnacle of their partnership.

The Candela C-8 is powered by computer-guided hydrofoils that lift the hull above the water at high speeds. It significantly enhances energy efficiency, reducing consumption by up to 80% compared to traditional motorised boats, which in turn offers a far more sustainable and eco-friendly alternative.

Carbon Yachts, the distributor for Candela, will offer ‘Test Flights’ of the Candela C-8 at the event. Allowing attendees to experience firsthand the benefits of its electric powertrain and unique on-water performance.

Chris Hrones, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Carbon Yachts, shared, “Concours d’Elegance is about celebrating iconic vehicles that define their era and push boundaries. Candela and Polestar are demonstrating how electric mobility excels in performance, efficiency, comfort, and design.”

Polestar will further enhance the experience with a Polestar 3 shuttle service, transporting guests between the Polestar/Candela Swedish Performance Hub and a static Polestar 4 display throughout the event.

Scott Maynard, Managing Director of Polestar Australia, expressed excitement about the collaboration. Saying, “Polestar works with industry leaders who redefine their fields. With the Candela C-8 now available in Australia. We’re thrilled to partner with Candela for this electric performance showcase at the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance. Our shared commitment to sustainable performance and luxury is sure to leave a lasting impression on event visitors. Offering a fresh and thrilling perspective on e-mobility.”

In 2024, Polestar expanded its lineup with the addition of two electric SUVs. The Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, joining the Polestar 2 fastback on Australian roads.

Polestar 2, the brand’s first fully electric model, comes in three variants with both Standard Range and Long Range powertrains, starting at $62,400*.

The Polestar 3, a large luxury electric SUV, is available in two Long Range Dual Motor variants. A Long Range Single Motor version joins the range in early 2025, offering over 700 km of range on the WLTP test cycle.

The Polestar 4 combines the sleek design of a coupe with the spaciousness of an SUV. Featuring an innovative rear-facing camera feed in place of a traditional rear windscreen. It’s the fastest Polestar yet, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
