Carbon Yachts, the exclusive representative for YYachts in Australia and New Zealand. Is now inviting expressions of interest for the new YYachts Y6. A cutting-edge sailing yacht designed for true owner operation.

Designed by renowned naval architect Bill Tripp, the carbon-built Y6 is expertly crafted for effortless handling. As a result, whether sailing solo or as a couple, owners can enjoy a high-performance yacht that seamlessly combines comfort and aesthetics without compromise. Furthermore, the design ensures an exceptional sailing experience in all conditions.

Effortless Sailing by Design

On deck, the design team simplifies sail handling to prioritise ease and efficiency. To begin with, they lead all halyards and sheets aft to the twin helms, allowing the helmsman to control the sails directly from the steering position. As a result, the need to move around the deck during maneuvers disappears. Simultaneously, the self-tacking jib minimizes trimming demands, which in turn streamlines tacking and gybing. Furthermore, this setup boosts both safety and confidence, especially when sailing shorthanded.

In addition, the clean, uncluttered layout promotes smoother workflows on board. Ultimately, every feature works together to create a sailing experience that feels intuitive, responsive, and enjoyable.

As a result, even extended passages become more relaxing and manageable. Additionally, a flush carbon hatch provides sleek tender storage, which contributes to a clean and uncluttered deck. Finally, when at anchor, the transom folds down effortlessly to create a spacious sea terrace, perfect for waterside lounging and enjoying the surroundings.

Light, Luxurious Living Below Deck

The Y6 interior is thoughtfully laid out for onboard living. A spacious saloon combines a lounge area with a functional U-shaped galley, creating a central hub for socialising and relaxation. Forward, the owner’s suite features a freestanding bed and private ensuite. Aft, two twin guest cabins each include their own bathroom, ensuring comfort and privacy for all aboard.

Each Y6 is fully custom-built to order. Owners can choose from four curated interior design themes—Baltic, Milano, Sugi Ban, and Glacier—developed by the in-house YYachts Design Team, led by Francesca Modica in collaboration with acclaimed designer David Thulstrup. These concepts provide a refined material palette and mood, with the design studio working closely with owners to tailor every detail for a truly personalised experience.

Tailored for Australasian Owners

“Clients in our region want a yacht that’s genuinely owner-operated and genuinely their own,” says Mary Bickley, Sales Manager at Carbon Yachts. “The Y6 meets that brief—it’s carbon-built for a light, responsive sailing experience, and the interior design process allows each owner to create a yacht that reflects their individual taste.”

Many Australian and New Zealand owners choose a European handover. The yard in Germany handles launch, rigging, and export documentation efficiently. Because of this, owners can enjoy a full Mediterranean season before sailing or shipping their yacht home. Moreover, YYachts’ Palma de Mallorca office offers design consultations and provides ongoing after-sales support while owners cruise abroad.

Smarter Sailing, Not Just Bigger Boats

“In today’s sailing world, we’re seeing a clear move away from ever-larger yachts,” says Peter Hrones, Co-Founder of Carbon Yachts. “Owners—especially those transitioning from high-end powerboats—are looking for control, privacy, and efficient use of time. The Y6 is purpose-built for that: a manageable sail plan for two and a calming, livable interior that feels like home.”
