DESCRIPTION
Outright winner of the Melbourne-Launceston raced 2 handed and competed in the Rolex Sydney- Hobart in the 2-handed division. More recently it has been enjoyed for twilight racing and just for the fun of sailing.
Whether ocean racing short-handed, racing IRC fully crewed, or simply twilight racing the Jeanneau Sun Fast 3200 has proved over and over that it does all equally well. This remarkable design is renowned for handling the toughest conditions, yet is equally at home pottering around the bay.
The layout is surprisingly comfortable with good seating in the saloon, a small but workable galley, proper nav’ station and two enormous double aft cabins.
One of the best attributes of the SF3200 is that it can be sailed with a minimum of crew and in fact is remarkable easy to sail 2-handed, so it really is a racing yacht of the moment, even though it was ahead of its time having been designed 10 years ago.
The 3200 continues to be highly competitive under IRC and a regular trophy collector. The designers own boat was part of the French winning team in the highly competitive Commodore’s Cup in the UK in 2017, and another example in the UK is a regular podium winner racing 2-handed in the RORC fleet.
