DESCRIPTION

Rogers 31 performance cruising Catamaran ROGER RAMJET exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales.

DBY Boatsales are excited to offer this action packed little big boat. Suited for coastal cruising and racing she is perfect for a couple or family looking to get away to secluded anchorages who also enjoy the thrill of sailing a fast responsive 30” sailboat. Providing ample accommodation and speed to burn this is a rare opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds and do it in spacious comfort and style.

Designed by accomplished designer/sailor Adrian Rogers she was carefully built by her original owners for racing with coastal cruising capability. Manufactured from lightweight composite materials to weigh a feathery 2500 Kgs (approximately) everything about her is clean, light and strong to deliver invigorating performance. A well balanced 9.3m length and 6m beam provide space for 7 berths in natural light filled cabins and a panoramic salon with huge windows. Intelligence and practicality of design abound on this great little big boat such as an innovative double bed/sitee setup in the salon. A couple can enjoy sleeping on the upper level in airy surrounds with a 360 degree view to really connect with nature or, if on passage, be close to the controls and instruments on watch.

Daggerboards provide startling performance on all points of sail and will reward a sailor who enjoys balancing the rig and foils. Daggers slide up and down easily with the pulley systems. With the boards up, engine tilted and rudders removed from the cassettes she daws a mere 450mm and can be beached without fear of damaging rudders, drives and keels. All the control lines lead back to the helm for convenient short handed sailing. The exception being the jib/spin sheets that are located a step away on the sides of the cockpit with their own winches. Vision from the helm is excellent through the large salon windows and a hatch above the helmsman provides a clear view of the main and windvane for trim and raising the main.

She has recently undergone refurbishments including  paint, all upholstery, bedding, plumbing, lighting, flooring and deck grip. Thus she presents clean, light and sparkling.

She is powered by a new in 2019 Yamaha outboard located out of the elements under the helm chair. She is a high thrust 25hp four stroke reading a mere 165 hours. Electric trim and tilt, electric start make lifting the engine clear of the water super simple and convenient. She bursts to life at the flick of a switch and zips the Roger Ramjet along at an effortless 7 knots. The outboard when tilted up clears the water for performance under sail, easy beaching and no maintenance for antifouling and corrosion – so wonderfully practical. As with all new Yamahas the motor can be fresh water flushed with a hose connection on the side of the engine (no muffs required)

The Dingy with 4 hp Yamaha motor is in great condition and hangs under the 350watt solar array on integrated davits. Once again demonstrating the practical intelligent design of this great little big boat.

When its time to settle in at an anchorage she has a powerful Maxwell electric windlass for lowering the anchor with 50m of chain. A second anchor with chain and rope is provided in the forward lockers. The galley has good surface area, a spacious pantry, good drawers and cupboards. Her current owners elected to use a butane portable stove which is provided with the boat. Alternatively there was gas cooktop installed(now decommissioned) that is supplied but not connected. There is provision for plumbed gas should her new owners wish to install piped gas and a gas locker to NSW codes.

The 70l fridge is integrated into the boat and has freezer and fridge compartments with access from above. Built from composite to maintain lightness and strength. The compressor and heat exchanger are serviceable from the galley for maintenance.

Two rear double cabins are light and spacious and provide good storage under the bunks. Upstairs has the convertible couch to a full size double by easily removing the backrest and forward of the galley there is a single cabin that can be used either as storage or a cabin with the addition of a mattress.

A spacious bathroom with shelving and storage is forward in the starboard hull with a new Italian silent flush marine head and plumbing. A 60ltr holding tank is integrated into the boat with options to divert waste overboard or into the tank. A Shower is provided in the head and includes an electric sump pump.

There are new trampolines made from knotless material and a Force 10 BBQ and bottle is supplied but not fitted. The sails pack away easily with a weathermax lazy bag and jacks for the main and furling jib. The spinnaker, sheets and other items are stored in the forward locker of the port hull.

She steers with the lightness of a beachcat, roars past anything but the most dedicated race boats under sail, boats accommodation and salon space of a 40” catamaran, is light, shallow, sparklingly clean and a delight in every respect.
