A fast and proven performer, the Kraken 50 is the perfect blue water cruiser for short-handed crews or would be the ultimate 2 handed racing yacht for races similar to Sydney to Hobart / Melbourne to Osaka. All Kraken yachts are built with a very robust construction process and design features specifically tailored to enable her crew to explore the world in safety and extreme comfort, plus the added benefit of excellent sail performance.

The K50 is built with the integral ZERO™ Keel and the ALPHA™ Rudder System which incorporates a full length skeg which protects the rudder from collision damage from floating debris or grounding. The hull layup comprises 17-22 layers of composite fibres including aramid (Kevlar) engineered fabric, laminated in a vinyl ester resin system. It’s 18mm construction provides far greater impact resistance and enjoys more integral strength than any other GRP or Aluminium yacht in production today. The Kraken 50 yacht features the versatile Solent dual headsail rig as standard. The specification of the rigging is deliberately overbuilt to withstand the rigours of ocean sailing.

The Tech room is another outstanding feature of this fantastic vessel. White perforated plate clad sound proofing is crafted to the contours of the spectacularly large tech room to cover all the surfaces – preventing noise on the vessel from the mechanical systems. The tech room is easily accessible through a full height (sound proof) door where all the systems are centralised. The Engine is easily accessible for maintenance and checking, the water maker, its filters and pump, the fuel polishing and transfer system to the day tank, sound proofed northern lights generator, AC and DC distribution and switchgear etc. it’s all in one perfect spot. There is standing room and every engineering system is expertly installed, labelled and easily serviced. This makes maintenance quick, pleasurable and effective – it really is a work of art.
