'Luna' is a Hanse 460, listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater.

'Luna' was delivered to Sydney new in 2025. The Hanse 460 marked a genuine changing of the guard for the German builder. After decades of near-exclusive partnership with Judel/Vrolijk, Hanse turned to the French studio Berret-Racoupeau for this model. The result is a noticeably different hull for Hanse, wider aft sections and pronounced chines for stability and interior volume, as well as some playful modifications with the layout in the cockpit and down below. The 460 launched an entirely new model generation for Hanse, going on to take home awards including European Yacht of the Year 2022 (Family Cruiser category) and Cruising Yacht of the Year 2022 at the British Yachting Awards. Luna is a very fresh example of the new range.

Luna's current owners are experienced sailors and multiple-boat owners who specified this particular 460 for East Coast cruising, and it shows in the options they chose. They decided on the soft-top bimini and dodger to reduce weight aloft and keep the lines smooth and traditional. The sailing set-up is incredibly well thought out, they have the standard self-tacking jib on an electric furler, but they've also optioned a second headsail a 145% reacher on its own independent electric furler. When cruising, the self-tacking jib is a simple, easy option. However for finer sheeting angles, they've also fitted dedicated genoa tracks, with cars and pin stops, alongside the self-tacking track. Four electric Lewmar 50 EST EVO winches make a yacht of this size easily manageable. The mainsail is an Elvstrom SPS tri-radial, electrically furled in the mast. The amazing thing about all of this is that it can all be controlled and worked from either helm station, keeping sail handling straightforward for a couple or a short-handed family crew.

Below the waterline, Luna runs the upgraded 80hp Yanmar 4JH80 on a saildrive with a folding three-blade propeller, showing around 505 hours earned on genuine sea miles, with two trips north along the coast and back already completed. Giving the next owners reassurance that she's well specified and ready to go again. Quick bow and stern thrusters make berthing easy, and the electronics package is comprehensive with twin upgraded Raymarine Axiom Pro 12S chart plotters at both helm stations, Raymarine i70s wind/depth/speed instruments, an Evolution autopilot with wireless remote, and VHF with a wireless handset at the chart table. They have got a Schenker Zen watermaker (50 litres per hour), Starlink connectivity, a large 2600W/100amp inverter/charger and an additional 175l fuel tank which brings the overall fuel level up to 375l.

Below decks, Luna's three-cabin, two-head layout is finished in French oak joinery with Acacia floorboards and Marine Mineral Stone galley benchtops. The forward owner's cabin has an island double berth and its own ensuite with a separate shower stall, while aft there's a VIP cabin to port with a queen-size bed and another double berth guest cabin to starboard. They both share a second head with its own separate shower and day-head access. The galley includes a three-burner gas stove and oven, an Isotherm fridge plus a large side-opening Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer in the dedicated utility room, and a third fridge in the cockpit. A really nice addition is the dedicated utility space that has a washing machine and dryer which is genuinely practical for extended time aboard. The saloon table also lowers electrically into a further double berth, and a lifting flat-screen TV extends out of the saloon seat.

The cockpit is one of Luna's real highlights genuinely spacious, beautifully presented and comfortable enough to live in, not just sail from. The portside cockpit table lowers electrically by remote into a daybed, while the starboard table stays fixed, letting the space flex effortlessly between lounging and eating. Access to the water is equally well thought out, the swim platform folds down electronically at the touch of a remote, and the helm seats lift on gas struts to open up the space for even easier access to the water. The telescopic davits on the stern slot away into designated holders, keeping things uncluttered while on a mooring or at anchor.

Specified from new by true sailors for exactly this kind of cruising, and already proven on the water, Luna is about as close to buying new as the brokerage market gets ready to sail straight away rather than needing to be fitted out.
