'Tatooine' is a 1997 Catalina 400 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater.
This is a two cabin / two head, big capacity, twin wheel, 40-footer from an extremely well-respected brand. Catalina builds solid comfortable cruisers which stand the test of time.
The two-cabin layout allows for the massive aft owner's cabin with private access to the larger of the two heads. The saloon space is seriously comfortable and practical. The large galley has impressive refrigeration, big sinks, three burner stove and oven, and good storage. This is a bright interior with long skylights and lots of hatches. The signature Catalina woodwork reminds us of how yachts used to be built and probably still should be. The second private double cabin is a V berth forward, close by the second head.
The cockpit was ahead of it's time with walk-through transom and twin wheels. In true Catalina style the deck gear (winches, blocks, tracks) is overengineered and easy to use. The cockpit is protected by the custom hard dodger with opening hatches (built in 2017). There is a new bimini and infill sheet that connects the bimini and hard dodger, plus a new boom bag.
Tatooine is powered by a shaft drive 42Hp Westerbeke. New stainless steel rigging has been professionally supplied and is included in the sale (uninstalled). A new B&G chart plotter is mounted on the cockpit table and instrument displays are neatly installed above on the dodger. Air conditioning was installed in 2021 which runs from shore power.
