The Beneteau Oceanis 45 is a popular cruising yacht with a generous 3-cabin twin head layout and expansive cockpit ideal for entertaining. "Irish Mist" is an excellent example that has been lightly used and extremely well maintained.
The cockpit is particularly roomy, and that is without the large swim platform which lowers electrically to create even more room for entertaining and enjoying any anchorage. The tall spray dodger meets the overhead arch to create a well-protected space, but this yacht also has side screens to protect the cockpit further along with the Bimini. The mainsheet is mounted on the arch keeping the cockpit free of ropes. There are primary winches outboard aft near the twin helms which the headsail sheets and German mainsheet are led to. Forward by the companionway there are two self-tailing winches, the port side halyard winch being electric. The varnished drop leaf cockpit table provides room for 6 adults seated to enjoy a meal, and there are four lockers for keeping all that loose gear, while the cockpit seats have a full set of fitted cushions.
The side deck space is wide and flat with low cockpit coamings making it easy to move forward to the foredeck which is ideal for lying out on. There is a foredeck locker where bulky items such as the MPS are stored.
Stepping down below the L-shaped galley is to port with a bench seat forward of it and U-shaped dinette opposite to starboard with a pedestal seat on the outboard side. The day head is to starboard aft of the dinette. Two symmetric guest cabins are aft on either side of the companionway, while the owner’s cabin is forward with an island style double and ensuite. The interior is light and modern with a great feeling of space and an inviting place to spend time relaxing or entertaining.
