DESCRIPTION

A lighted used and superbly maintained example of this highly popular cruising yachts, this one especially well equipped for ease of handling with both electric primary and halyard winch, in-mast furling mainsail plus a furling genneker, and bow-thruster.

The 42DS is renowned for packing into a 42 foot hull what you would typically find in a much bigger yacht, so making it easily handled by a couple, but extremely comfortable to spend extended time onboard. Which is why so may Australian examples have cruised extensively, including two that sailed out from France, one that circumnavigated Australia, several that have been to Fiji and Vanuatu, and numerous that have cruised the East coast of Australia including circumnavigations of Tasmania.

This yacht has the far more popular owners layout with an enormous full-width owners cabin aft with a King sized bed with sitting up headroom, highly unusual in an aft cockpit yacht. The cockpit itself is large, well protected and comfortable, this one with cockpit cushions and full canvas package renewed in 2017. It is the only 42DS in the Country with the factory German mainsheet option, and also the only one with electric primary winches. It has the teak cockpit floor option, and large varnished teak table, twin 120W solar panels mounted on the bimini, hot & cold transom shower, BBQ and there is a plotter, stereo control, and the autopilot has a remote.

Down below the saloon is superb with a proper forward facing nav' station, L-shaped galley that has a microwave, and a saloon dinnette that converts quickly into an additional double when required, with a lounge seat opposite to port. The guest cabin is roomy and an ensuite, while as described above the owners cabin simply has to be seen to be believed. The day head is also accesible directly from the owners cabin.
