DESCRIPTION
A true Deck-Saloon cruising yacht with panoramic views at seated height in the saloon. The Jeanneau 40 Deck-Saloon is a remarkable yacht with a performance orientated hull shared with the Sun Odyssey 40 and Sun Fast 40, a innovative cockpit with an offset helm forward to starboard that is well protected by the spray-dodger. Then there is the interior, with a remarkable saloon that is one of the rare examples where the living space offers full views of your surroundings with genuinely comfortable seating and dinette, an L-shaped galley and proper nav station. There is a Sinewave Invertor offering 240 volts and it has been converted to Lithium in 2023 with a 300A house battery.
Although the interior is a 2-cabin layout, with a pantry aft of the galley, the dinette is convertible into an additional double when additional sleeping space is required. It also has twin heads, both with electric toilets.
It has a near new B&G instrument package which includes radar, 2022 standing rigging, was antifouled in July 2025 and includes a custom davit system on which is mounted 335W of Solar.
This yacht would make an excellent liveaboard, coastal or ocean cruiser. These yachts are extremely strong, being reinforced in the high load areas with Kevlar laminate, and all of the structure is hard wood hand-laminated.
The generous 55hp Yanmar is shaft drive with a recent replacmeent of the Volvo shaft gland and drives a 3-blade Autostream propellor. The standing rigging was replaced in 2021 and the in-mast furling mainsail and furling genoa are upgraded Hood sails from 2018. There is also an MPS and storm jib.
There is a rigid bottomed inflatable tender which is in poor condition, and a Tohatsu 9.8hp outboard.
