DESCRIPTION

A smart navy-blue example of these roomy and very capable cruising yachts that has been superbly maintained. The Sun Odyssey 45.2 was an early twin wheel design and combines a huge cockpit with a remarkably roomy interior and also incorporates a bow locker for blue-water stowage. These are structurally very strong yachts all hand laminated with hardwood stringers and Kevlar reinforcing in the high load areas.

This example is a one-owner yacht that features a 3-cabin twin head layout. The saloon has a full wrap-around dinette, a huge nav’ station, and a long galley with abundant counter space and stowage.

The master cabin is forward having a large island-style double, vanity unit and ensuite, while the aft cabins are symmetric with a day head to port.

Sailing wise it has both a racing mainsail with boom-bag and in-mast furling mainsail for ease of handling, furling genoa and spare headsail, as well as spinnaker.

The 80hp engine hardly works and easily drives the yacht at a cruising speed of 7 knots driving a shaft driven 3-blade feathering prop.

Instrumentation is B&G with 5 near new displays, autopilot, radar, 12” plotter (touchscreen), plus VHF and HF radios.

This is a much-admired yacht that sails superbly and can match it with many much newer designs in terms of cockpit space, interior volume and sailing ability.

It has recently been antifouled and hull polished, and is very much ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.
