The locally designed and built Seawind 1000 has firmly marked its position in the marine industry as the most successful cruising sailboat built in the country, with 215 now complete.
Australia’s most successful cruising catamaran builder, Seawind, has announced the next generation of Australia’s most popular cruising catamaran, the Seawind 1000.
The new XL2 series Seawind 1000 includes a range of significant features to enhance onboard comfort and livability for cruising couples and families. These include:
- Fibreglass Hardtop Extension: Extending out over the helm and cockpit, the hardtop provides further protection from the elements in place of the soft bimini covers.
- Galley and Saloon Hatch: This opens up the galley with more ventilation, light and direct communication through to the saloon and allows the chef easily to pass up food from the galley into the saloon.
- Folding Saloon Table: A beautiful timber saloon table is an outstanding showpiece of the cockpit, with very practical application thanks to its foldaway sides allowing easy access to the end seating in the saloon.
From the initial launch of the Seawind 1000 when it was awarded “Australian Cruising Boat of the Year” - the first time this award was given to a catamaran - the locally designed and built Seawind 1000 firmly marked its position in the marine industry as the most successful cruising sailboat built in the country, with 215 now complete.
Through a number of refinements and product developments with the input of customers, the design has evolved into a cruising boat that represents excellent value for money, efficient performance and sea going ability, optimised short-handed control and a comfortable yet very practical layout for Australian conditions.
