DESCRIPTION

The iconic Northshore 38 is one of the highest regarded Australian production cruising yachts. This version the 380C is one of the last ones built with an extensive timber finish and the later swim platform. Under just one ownership for over 20 years this yacht has been very lightly used but fastidiously maintained. With rigging and sails replaced in 2017, new canvas and cockpit cushions in 2021, the gas system overhauled and re-certified in 2021, the steering system overhaul in 2023 this yacht is in excellent condition. The most recent antifouling was in July and engine service in November.

The cockpit is complemented with Pushpit seats, there are twin solar panels on the Bimini, the autopilot has a full-function ST5000+ control. Both the seats and cockpit floor are fitted with teak and there are four instruments at the front of the cockpit for all to see. The Spray dodger and Bimini offer good protection and are complimented by a boom tent at anchor.

Up on the foredeck the anchor locker is fitted with a deck-wash and the electric anchor winch is a Muir. The furling genoa is in excellent condition and uses a large diameter Furlex Furler. The mainsail is also excellent in in a boom bag with lazy jacks for ease of use.

The interior layout is the traditional layout, but with a high-level fit out. To port is an L-shaped galley with a high quality Smev 4-burner stove with oven & grill. The sink has a salt-water foot-pump for conserving freshwater, and the 12v fridge has an 80 Litre capacity. Opposite is the full size nav' station where the plotter is along with stereo and VHF. Ther eis also a battery monitor as well as the full switch panel.

Aft to starboard is a very generous single quarter berth, then the saloon has a U-shaped dinette to port on gas struts for easy conversion to a double berth. To starboard is a bench seat which can also be used as a single berth. There is lots of storage space in the lockers on the outboard of the saloon and under bunks.

Forward the head is to port with a manual toilet and hot & cold shower, lockers/vanity unit to starboard and then a conventional v-berth forward. There are mozzie screens for all opening ports.

If you’re in the market for an all-round yacht that sails well and is equally at home cruising the coast or your local waterway, while also being a very capable twilight racing yacht, then this should definitely be on your short list.
