Strong support for RIVIERA AT SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
8th Aug 2008

“Hard on the heels of 26 sales at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May, this result has proven the strength of the Riviera brand and our unique R Marine national retail network,” said Mr Moxey.

Australia’s largest luxury boat builder reported strong support through the Sydney International Boat Show over the past six days.

The company and its R Marine retail network displayed 22 boats, including 14 Rivieras, five Princess motor yachts and three Grand Banks models, over 4,000 square metres on water during the show, the single largest display at this year’s show.

With a total of 25 boats sold through the six days of the show, Riviera CEO Wes Moxey said the company had achieved sales across its entire range of Open and Enclosed Flybridge, Offshore Express and Sport Yacht models.

Mr Moxey said the company included only contracted sales with deposits paid in the Show result.

“We will see many more sales achieved by our Dealers over the next few days and weeks as a direct result of the Show,” he said.

“The trend toward larger boats continued at this show,“ he said. “The market has certainly shifted in the past 12 months and there is less strength in the large US market, but interest from local boat owners remains strong.

“Hard on the heels of 26 sales at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May, this result has proven the strength of the Riviera brand and our unique R Marine national retail network,” said Mr Moxey.

“I believe we performed well because people feel they can trust Riviera's 28-year strong brand position, our 24/7 support and service. For many Riviera owners, boating is an important part of their lifestyle. We have now secured five forward orders for our exciting new Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht due for launch at the Sanctuary Cove show in May of next year.

“Our new models gained strong interest,” he said. “We are very excited about the launch of the 43 Offshore Express model. We received a number of advance orders and continued with sales during the Show. Interest in our new flagship 70 was intense (the star of the show according at least one leading boating journalist) and we are undertaking sea trials with a number of clients over the next few weeks. The company had orders for five of these magnificent new boats even before the first was launched.”

Mr Moxey said that interest in all new models, from the 38 Open Flybridge,  61 Enclosed Flybridge, the 51 Series II to the 41 restyled accommodation model, was strong and encouraging in the lead-up to summer.

Riviera Syndication reported strong results for its boats in the Whitsundays and the Gold Coast and reported progress for locations in Sydney.

The company also showcased its new 2008-09 interiors range for the first time at the show while R Electronics displayed new navigation systems and its desalination systems.
