Guests at Pacific Motor Yachts’ on-water party during the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show were treated to variety in all forms.
For Managing Director Brett Thurley it was a great way to launch his new boating brand.
The boats on view ranged from an eight-metre Jeanneau Cap Camarat centre console runabout to the glamorous Prestige 500 Flybridge and Clipper Hudson Bay 50 motor yacht.
Rebecca Frizelle loved the Hydra Swim platform of the Hudson Bay.
“It’s a great all-round entertaining boat,” she said. “And that platform is a winner.”
The award-winning Prestige 500 flybridge was also a crowd pleaser with guests spending much of the evening on board.
Equally, the variety of food on offer ensured there was plenty for every taste and the wines complemented every tray of food being offered among more than 70 guests.
When they wanted to talk seriously about the boats, Paul Blanc, Asia-Pacific Managing Director for Jeanneau and Prestige was on hand as was Mark Campion, direct from the Clipper Motor Yachts factory.
And guests were divided about which was the best boat.
“The Hudson Bay 50 will be perfect for the Whitsundays,” said radio executive Hans Torv.
But one guest had her eye on the Cap Camarat.
“That would be great to whip the family across to Moreton Island for our holidays,” she said. “There’s always a great brood of children at our place, so even a big boat isn’t space enough for them. They need the sandy beaches.”
Even the two-piece band provided a wide variety of entertainment, from soft ballads to rocking Dire Straits songs.
Paul Blanc was impressed by the efforts of Pacific Motor Yachts’ Brett Thurley and his team.
“This is a great way to bring Jeanneau power boats to Queensland boating enthusiasts,” he said. “This relaxed party has been a very pleasant way for me to connect with our owners and their guests.”
