Sydney Weekender gets hooked on luxury game fishing

MYCS Skipper Michael Tess said it was great to host Mike Whitney and the Sydney Weekender crew onboard Pisces
30th May 2011

Motor Yacht Charters Sydney (MYCS), a new Australian owned charter company, introduced television presenter Mike Whitney and his Channel Seven Sydney Weekender crew to game fishing in style when they came aboard Riviera 56 Open Flybridge, Pisces.

With Sydney Harbour and clear blue skies as the backdrop, Mike Whitney initially set his sights on the bow of the luxurious vessel where he posed Titanic-style arms spread wide for the camera. However, as Pisces cruised out towards Sydney Heads his attention soon veered to the state-of -the-art fishing equipment that Pisces boasts.

Dave-the-Deckie (David Jose, MYCS Deckhand) together with Michael Tess, MYCS Skipper and fishing-guru Al McGlashan (StrikezoneTV) demonstrated some game-fishing techniques using the champion rods onboard which are handcrafted by Ian Miller, one of the world’s top three master rod makers.

MYCS Skipper Michael Tess said it was great to host Mike Whitney and the Sydney Weekender crew onboard Pisces and even better to send him home with a Kingy at the end of the day.

“It’s always a buzz to see someone reeling in a fish and experiencing the thrill of the chase,” he said.

“Pisces has the top-of-the-range equipment to give everyone the best chance of hooking their dream catch. The Shimano reels and handcrafted Ian Miller rods, coupled with the electronics that track the fish from the flybdrige, make for an awesome fishing experience”.

“Whether guests are on the back deck in the $25,000 game chair reeling in a fish, upstairs on the open flybridge looking for the next school of fish, or just kicking back in the saloon enjoying lunch, everyone enjoys the day on Pisces.”

“A custom-built open-flybridge Riviera like Pisces, with all the bells and whistles you could ever dream of for a day’s fishing, makes it easy for us to ensure that everyone goes home with a smile on their dial and great memories.”

Pisces’ advanced navigation system including 3D GPS, sonar and Furuno electronics, guided the new found fishing fanatics to a hot spot. With much excitement, Mike managed to reel in an impressive Kingfish before lunch.

Retreating to the saloon with panoramic views for a well deserved lunch, the group feasted on fresh seafood and contemporary cuisine prepared by one of Sydney’s leading catering companies.
