25th Apr 2012

Particularly in Asia and the Middle East, Sanctuary Cove is held up as the benchmark of boat shows and the premier showcase of the marine lifestyle. All over Europe and the US people certainly know about the show and express their interest in attending.

The marine industry's largest players are set to visit the 2012 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

From the US, Bonnie Frenkel, Regal Boat's International Sales Manager is planning to attend this year's event, having just appointed a Gold Coast dealer for the brand, Game and Leisure Boats at Runaway Bay Marina on the Gold Coast.

Geoff Burton, manager at Game and Leisure Boats, says the company was eager to become dealers for the brand and will have a boat on display at Sanctuary Cove. "Customers are really passionate about the boats. Our first two customers are life-long Regal owners moving up in the brand. The quality of the build and their performance are second to none."

From France, Jean-Paul Chapeleau, General Manager of Jeanneau and Prestige, and Paul Blanc, Asia Pacific Marketing Manager will attend the show, hosted by Brett Thurley and his team from Pacific Motor Yachts, which represents Jeanneau Powerboats and Prestige Luxury Motor Yachts.

Pacific Motor Yachts will have on display a Prestige 440S sports yacht powered by Volvo IPS, a Leader 10 diesel-powered sports cruiser and an 8.5 Cap Camarat centre console sports boat with outboard power, the NC9 and the award-winning Prestige 500 flybridge model.

The superb Prestige 500, recently crowned "Powerboat of the Year" in the 45' category at the European Powerboat of the Year Awards in Düsseldorf, will be seen for the first time in Australia at Sanctuary Cove.

The Prestige 500 also won the trophy for "Best Interior Design" in September 2011 at the World Yacht Trophies Awards in Cannes, France, as well as "Best Motor Yacht" at the Nautical Design Awards in Milan, the "Best of the Best" 2011 in Hainan by the magazine the Robb Report, and was also honoured with the prestigious title of "Motor Yacht of the Year 2012" in London in the category of yachts up to 55 feet in length.

In Jeanneau Sail, Jeanneau Australia and the Queensland importer, Mooloolaba Yacht Brokers, will host the Australian show debut of the first of the stunning new deck saloon range, the Sun Odyssey 44DS.

The model was only launched at the Paris Boat show in December so it is hot off the press. Paying particular attention to feedback from Australian customers, the interior of the new 44DS has no fewer than 16 opening ports to give superb ventilation throughout. The owner's cabin is especially catered for with a large opening port out to the transom offering a wide view.

Brett Thurley, also MD at Clipper Motor Yachts Australia, will also welcome Mark Campion, partner at Clipper Motor Yachts who will also be visiting from China, where he lives and works, overseeing production at the Clipper facility.

Clipper Motor Yachts' new Hudson Bay 50 will be a highlight of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May next year; not simply a new model but a completely new line for the renowned builder of classic motor yachts.

"We are really excited about this new line," sad Thurley. "The company has spent a great deal of time and energy to ensure this new model combines the classic lines for which Clippers are renowned with the relaxed lifestyle apsects of a sedan cruiser."

The first of the new line, a Hudson Bay 50, is designed around a single-level family and entertaining area stretching from the aft cockpit protected by a generous overhang of the hard top through the galley and saloon and dinette. It includes three cabins and two bathrooms in the accommodation suite.

Thurley said: "We have combined a layout and features that will focus on families getting away and staying on board while offering a comprehensive range of contemporary features. In his role as a Manager of Government, Industry and International Relations, Barry Jenkins says Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is held in high esteem around the globe. "Particularly in Asia and the Middle East, Sanctuary Cove is held up as the benchmark of boat shows and the premier showcase of the marine lifestyle. All over Europe and the US people certainly know about the show and express their interest in attending."
