In October 2004 the Gold Coast City Marina commenced the development of the most state of the art sportfisher of its kind ever built south of the Equator. The Pirate Sportfish really is a spectacular sportfisher & has to be seen to be believed.

The design brief basically read, “Build the best quality, best performing & most exclusive open cockpit Sportfisher possible.

The construction from start to finish was performed at the prestigious Gold Coast City Marina & saw expert trades people from Blackline Shipping, Southern Stainless, Black Marlin Towers, Spray Time Marine Services and Classic Marine Trimming deliver a vessel that is truly built to world standards. Each of these well renowned companies combined their very best methods & materials to make the finished product come to fruition & earn the reputation as the best sportfisher on the market today.

Avid sports fishing enthusiast Ryan Leigh-Smith, has been responsible for the production of the Pirate. He is justifiably proud of the results of his efforts, and those of all concerned.
