There has never been a better time to buy a NorseBoat. Get in while the Aussie dollar is at its best.
This is the boat that so many have been waiting for: that you can sail, row, motor or cruise in almost anywhere around Australia.
We are lucky to have so many beautiful coastal waterways where this versatile boat can be enjoyed: from up the creek to true-blue salt water.
The heritage behind these innovative craft is both the open sea boats of Norse sailors and the rugged, seaworthy beach skiffs used by New Jersey shore fishermen in the 1800s. NorseBoats are gaff-rigged cats with a lapstrake hull, a lovely curved stem and graceful sheer.
They have a modest deck to keep them dry, raked wineglass transom for buoyancy and to accept a small motor if desired. Positive flotation is built-in for safety and a pivoting centreboard and rudder let you explore shallow drafts.
The fully battened mainsail is powerful yet easy to manage and to reef as needed; being boomless is definitely an advantage when people forget to duck!
NorseBoats make the perfect partner for exploration.
With a dodger for spray protection and a bimini for sun shade you will be ready for those great days out. With two rowing stations, these boats glide easily under oar for that perfectly silent venture into quiet waters. Care to stay out all night? Take along the optional camping conversion tent and set up the interior to make the double bed and you may just want to stay out for a whole lot longer.
NorseBoats are currently available in 17.5 ft and 12.5 ft versions in KIT and FULLY ASSEMBLED versions. A 20.5 ft model is also now available with boats being delivered in the US.
Classic looks belie the strictly modern construction: hull choice is resin-infused fiberglass or all timber mahogany marine ply, for the purists out there!
However there are plenty of classic timber touches on the fiberglass versions with the curved, laminated spruce gaff, teak blocks under the rowlock pads, a hand crafted spruce tiller and mahogany floor boards. A beautiful moulded ash coaming is an option.
All models also come standard with one set of spruce oars with traditional brass rowlocks. The mast is stayless carbon fiber in two-pieces and at only 8 kg a snack to erect. Traditional wooden hoops on the mainsail make rigging even easier.
Top quality dacron custom sails and deck hardware by Harken – only the best for NorseBoats. All boats offered in Australia can be packaged with a top class, fully galvanized Dunbier trailer, professionally adjusted to suit your boat, then road registered for delivery.

The two men will row, sail or haul their small craft 1700 miles along this historic route. Detailed study of recent ice charts has shown that the ice should progressively clear sufficiently to enable the passage.
