Mainship Trawlers

Mainship Trawlers - America's Trawler

The Mainship Corporation (with a history that dates back to the 1830's and a German immigrant by the name of Henry Luhrs) was formed in 1977. Today, Mainship Corporation is the leading manufacturer of production trawlers building 6 different models with many more on the drawing boards.

Mainship, along with its sister companies in the Luhrs Marine Group, is an employee ownership company. This means that all employees want to share in the success of creating value and satisfaction for all the Mainship owners for years to come.

When you're ready to go cruising, you will want to feel confident in your motor yacht. Safety is paramount aboard; especially when you are at sea. Mainship takes this seriously and has incorporated several important features to keep you out of harms way.

Comfort and Convenience are not to be overlooked as well. If you are spending extended time aboard, it should not be a hardship. We want you to enjoy the experience and keep on coming back for more. Little touches can go a long way to make it special for you and your mate.

Fuel-Efficient Hulls
Both the Pilot Series and the Trawlers have slippery hulls that are well-designed to provide a high level of efficiency at displacement speeds. These hulls are also designed to run at planning speeds as well. Whether you are full time cruising or just out on the weekends, these Mainships can do it all.

Inner-Spring Mattresses
Every bunk and every extra wide berth is treated to a custom inner-spring mattress.

Full-Service Galleys
If you're to spend time aboard, you'd better have a galley that really works for you and not the other way around. Electric or propane stoves, refrigerators and microwaves plus sinks you can actually wash dishes in are all in place.

Entertainment Centers
Flat panel color televisions with DVDs along with AM/FM CD stereos are standard on all Mainships.

Split Anchor Lockers
The larger trawlers have a split anchor locker to carry a full complement of chain on one side and a separate line and chain rode on the other. It even provides a space for a spare Danforth.

Full Keel Stability
All Mainship Trawlers and Pilots have long, deep keels that allow for increased stability and excellent tracking capability. This feature gives a pleasant motion to the boat versus a roll or pounding. The keels also protect the prop for most situations.

Flybridge Steps
All Mainship flybridge boats have wide steps to allow easy and safe access, instead of ladders. Sturdy handrails and serious nonskid make transiting even in a seaway safe. Now you and your family can spend some time up on the bridge without worry.

Wide, Raised Bulwarks
Moving around the decks to set the ground tackle or to toss a line can be a chore on many boats. Mainship Trawlers have raised bulwarks to keep your footing solid and on the deck. These well-lit decks are covered in nonskid and have handholds strategically placed around the boat.

Deep Cockpits
All Mainships have deep cockpits for added safety. Handling a wet dockline or coming aboard from the dinghy, you'll find added security in the size and depth of the cockpits.

Oversize Rails
316L stainless steel rails that are placed to the right height make going forward on a Pilot or Trawler a safe experience.

Tempered-Glass Window Systems
All Mainship framed windows are made of tempered glass for that extra measure of safety. Frames are solid and will provide years of carefree service.

Mainship is very focused on attaining a higher level of quality without sacrificing the value position Mainship has earned over the years. A major investment in facilities and equipment has given them an edge over the competition.
