Haines Traveler TD149 Review
Two days on the water and 69 barra... what better way to test a fishing boat ?Find out more
The beauty of the Traveller series is that it's made of tough fibreglass which, unlike alloy, is non-corrosive and actually toughens with age.
Furthermore, the fact that a fibreglass boat's hull is cast in one piece makes it stronger than hulls comprised of sections welded together. And if you haven't already guessed, a fibreglass boat is far less noisy than a banging metal hull.
Fibreglass flexes too, so it acts like a subtle shock absorber for a much smoother ride. It is not necessarily true that the 'tinny' is lighter than its counterpart either, because the compound used in building Traveller is not only tough, it's also light.
So all round, it's a great story!
