GeeCraft Boats
Clinker construction will always hold a warm place in the heart of the more conventional fisherman, this method of construction was proved by the ancient vikings and we would be hard pressed to improve on their longships even today.
The laps of the stakes act as multiple small keels for stability while at speed they bleed air to the planing surface to lessen skin friction,in wooden construction they allow pleasing hull lines while in GRP they help in spray suppression as well as adding strength in a similar manner to the corrugation in a sheet of roofing iron.
This is common knowledge to all boat builders but the majority avoid the clinker form because it is difficult to avoid air bubbles in the lay up unless you use the proper procedure and equipment.
Unfortunately this increases the manufacturing costs so there are very few clinker boats on the market. Thus from it's humble beginnings as a wooden clinker in 1950 to it's fibreglass twin, the Gee Craft design seems timeless, much thought has been given to improving the design but it is hard to improve on perfection.
While many other makes and models have come and gone, the Gee Craft is still here and due to it's unchanging deep V, it's wide beam and ample work area just to name a few of it's many features, the Gee Craft will be around for another 60 yrs.
Over the years many different type of people bought the Gee Craft including the professional fishermen, sailing clubs and yacht clubs as rescue boats, dept of fisheries etc, etc.
So if you are in the market a a good reliable safe boat, one that you can safely take your son, your daughter, wife etc for a pleasant day's fishing and not worry about the weather turning bad the the Gee Craft is the boat for you, and if the weather does turn bad you will be glad you did buy a Gee Craft.
Many hundreds of Gee Crafts have been made and sold all over Australia and we would love to make your new Gee Craft exactly the way you want it.
